Hexis is built so your reflections never leave your hands. Here is exactly what that means, in plain language.
The short version
There is no account and no sign-up. We run no analytics and no trackers. We never see your entries, and we have no servers that store them. Your journal lives on your device, under your control.
Who we are
Hexis is made by GoldenBerry Software OÜ, a private limited company registered in Estonia (registry code 17419522), at Tartu mnt 67/1-13b, 10115 Tallinn, Estonia. For anything in this policy, the company is the data controller. You can reach us at hello@goldenberry.so.
What we collect
Nothing that identifies you. Hexis asks for no name, no email, and no questionnaire. The app contains no analytics SDKs, no advertising, and no third-party trackers. Nothing reports back to us about what you write or how you use it.
Where your writing lives
Every entry is stored locally on your iPad or Mac. If you turn on iCloud sync, your entries move between your own devices through your private Apple iCloud account, under Apple's encryption. We operate no servers that hold or read your entries, and sync is off unless you choose it. You can lock the app behind Face ID or Touch ID.
Payments
Hexis is a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. Apple processes the payment as the merchant of record. We receive confirmation that a purchase was made; we never receive your card number or billing address. Apple's handling of that transaction is governed by Apple's own privacy policy.
The companies we rely on
For the app, that is Apple alone: for App Store distribution and payment, and for optional iCloud sync. We share nothing with anyone else, because there is nothing to share.
About this website
This marketing site uses PostHog, a privacy-focused analytics tool hosted in the European Union, to measure visits and improve the page. It runs cookieless: it records broad, anonymous usage (pages viewed, rough device and country), not your identity, and keeps no cookie or persistent identifier in your browser. The site also loads its typeface from Google Fonts, which may log your IP address to serve the font files. The Hexis app itself contains no analytics of any kind; this applies to the website only.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, and erase your personal data. Because we hold essentially none, there is little for us to show, change, or delete: your entries are on your device, and you can export them as plain text, Markdown, or PDF, or delete them, at any time. If you believe we have mishandled data, you may contact us or lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).
Children
Hexis is not directed at children under 13, and we knowingly collect no information from anyone, of any age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will update the date at the top. Since we collect nothing, we do not expect it to change often.
